Nesting Newbies

I was checking through my regular blog list this weekend when I came across an online magazine, called Nesting Newbies posted in A Brooklyn Limestone In Progress. It's an American magazine, but has some beautiful images that I find quite inspiring. Here are a couple of my favourites :-)

A re-purposed console table turned dessert bar is perfect for a young girl's birthday party. Black, white, green, and a splash of pink were the colours for theme used here. The centrepieces are simple white pots from Ikea that were embellished with black rickrack trim, with a centrepiece stick inserted into each one. I love that the white decorated tins become the party favours when filled with the treats from the dessert bar! Next time I plan any kind of party, I'm gonna use some of these tips!

This wall colour is the same as I have in my bathroom and this image makes me want to add pops of tangerine to it! The other part I love in this image is the long narrow shelf, which is perfect for displaying art on a long wall. Also, it offers a big impact without intruding on space, which is a necessity for my apartment.

This is probably the closest image I've seen to my ideal kitchen; walnut floors, white shaker cabinets with some glass-fronted cabinets, stainless steel appliances, window behind the sink, large island, simple metal hardware, pendant lighting over the island, and a large gas stove :-) Swoooooon.... It's beautiful. 'Nuff said.
